Justice for Ladainian Canales
We are uniting to seek justice and legal representation for Ladainian Canales. Ladainian is a recent 2025 Immokalee High School graduate. He also recently lost his mother on Mother’s Day, days before his graduation. This is a young man of our community who we cannot lose to the “school to prison pipeline” and who we must stand up for to give a fighting chance against the daily injustices brought by CCSO and other local law enforcement.
On Tuesday, September 2nd, at approximately 4 pm, Ladainian Canales was racially profiled and harassed by Collier County Sheriff’s Office. This was the 3rd time in 2 weeks that he was pulled over and nothing was found to arrest him. This time, he was pulled over by an unmarked vehicle from an unidentified officer and frustrated by the constant harassment, he attempted to exercise his 5th Amendment right to remain silent. CCSO escalated the situation and pulled a gun out on him and his minor passenger to exit the vehicle.
There were many community members witnessing the common injustices being carried out on two young people of this community. Many law enforcement there were threatening witnesses of arrest and seen laughing about the matter.
As a community we are tired of the daily racial profiling and harassment from local enforcement. We are asking for support to assist Ladainian in his legal battles in this case and to also file harassment charges against CCSO.
We demand justice for Ladainian and stand with him.
