Yesterday, my 85-year-old grandparents watched the place they’ve called home for decades be torn apart by a fire.
This house wasn’t just walls and a roof. It was where they built a life together, where family gathered, where holidays were celebrated, and where memories were made year after year. In a matter of moments, that sense of safety and familiarity was shattered.
The photos you see here show just a glimpse of what they’re facing — exposed walls, destroyed rooms, and the aftermath of firefighters working to save what they could. While we are beyond grateful that my grandparents made it out alive, the emotional impact has been devastating. At their age, the trauma of seeing your home damaged like this is something no one should have to endure.
Now they are facing the overwhelming reality of temporary housing, replacing basic necessities, and repairing a home that may never feel the same again. Navigating insurance, repairs, and daily needs is exhausting — especially for two people who should be spending their later years in comfort and peace.
My grandparents are proud, humble people who have always taken care of themselves and others. Asking for help does not come easily to them, but right now they need support.
Funds raised will help with:
• Immediate essentials like clothing, food, medications, and daily necessities
• Temporary housing and living expenses
• Home repairs and recovery costs not fully covered by insurance
Every donation, no matter the size, helps ease this heavy burden and reminds them they are not alone during one of the hardest moments of their lives. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page means just as much.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, your prayers, and your compassion. Our family is deeply grateful.
With love and gratitude,
