Laurenie’s Namibia Mission Trip

My name is Laurenie Louissaint. I’m currently a 4th year physical medicine and rehabilitation resident in the department of rehabilitation and human performance at Mount Sinai hospital in New York. Some of you who have been following my journey in medicine may know that one of my passions has been global health. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, continuing this work has not been possible due to travel restrictions throughout my residency training. With less than 3 months left in residency, I got some great news!

On 4/22-4/29 I will be heading to Namibia along side my mentor and other physicians from a variety of specialties to provide medical care and offer educational lectures to further equip the therapists, nurses and practitioners in Namibia.
