Mariam Nabatanzi
I am a lawyer in Phoenix, Arizona. Please look at all the updates I have posted regarding sending Mariam money. My name is Suzanne Watts and I am raising money for Mariam Nabatanzi and her 38 children. This story touched my heart. As I was up nursing my baby Mariam Nabatanzi‘a story came across my Facebook feed. I immediately started googling the author, Elias Biryabarema, and started messaging him asking how I could help. He sent me her number and the next thing I knew I was FaceTiming her son, Ivan, in Kasawo, Uganda. I got to meet some of Mariam’s kids on FaceTime, many were out praying. I am starting this GoFundMe because I want to be sure Mariam and her kids have beds to sleep in and food to eat. This woman, and every human, deserves to know what joy feels like.
Please note-it is NOT easy to get money into Mariams hands. It took me some trial and error (almost a year of sending small amounts here and there) to be 100% confident she is getting it ( which is also not easy since she is illiterate) so whomever else is raising money for her, it likely isn't going to her-sadly.
