Help a Devoted Mother of 3 Stay in Her Home
I’m reaching out on behalf of a dear friend who is in severe need of support. She is a devoted wife and loving mother of three children who attend Linden Public Schools. While she wishes to remain anonymous, she has allowed me to share her story in hopes that this community can help her during the most challenging time of her life.
On Christmas of 2024, her youngest daughter received a life-changing medical diagnosis that now requires 24-hour care. As a result, my friend had no choice but to leave her job when her employer was unwilling to adjust her schedule so she could care for her daughter after school hours.
Prior to this, she had already been facing challenges at home due to a domestic violence situation with her husband. Despite everything, after the diagnosis, she took him back in—trusting his promise to provide financial support now that she no longer had income. Sadly, that support never came.
Soon after, her car was repossessed due to nonpayment, making it incredibly difficult for her to get her daughter to and from vital medical appointments and school.
Eventually, the financial stress caught up to her. The rent went unpaid, and she was summoned to court. I helped her reach out to multiple local resources—including housing assistance programs, the mayor’s office, and even the public school district—but all avenues led to the same answer: there are no available funds.
Her situation grew even more heartbreaking when her husband packed up and left, abandoning her and the children completely.
She is now in her home with no gas and fears that the electricity may be shut off next. She has been packing in recent weeks, desperately looking for somewhere else to go—but with no income and little support, her options are few.
Her oldest son is set to start his senior year in high school, and all he wants is to finish his final year with his friends and teachers at the school he’s attended for years. This family deserves a chance to stay in the place they call home.
I created this GoFundMe with her permission because we are out of options. We are seeking any help—no matter how small—to help her cover the $7,500 in back rent and provide a path forward, whether that means staying in her current home or finding a new, safe place for her and her children.
All donations will go directly to her. Her application for social services is currently pending, but even if approved, it may not cover what is owed.
Please consider donating or sharing this campaign. Your kindness could mean the difference between stability and homelessness for this mother and her children.
If you are aware of any programs, resources, or connections that could help in this situation, please feel free to send a message and share the information. Every bit of support matters.
Thank you for taking the time to read, share, and support.
