#3.5 weeks til Belfast Marathon "Sunday 3rd October 2021"
Thank-you to each and everyone who has taken the time to read, share or donate to my fundraiser, absolutely overwhelmed by your kindess and support!!
So the training continues, its getting a little harder as the mileage has increased, with last week being a total of 57 miles. My body is tired and sore. But the good news is my longest training run is completed, 22 miles. Staying positive and motoring on. For all the wavers and beepers that have passed me on the roads over the past few months / weeks, loving the support as it pushes me on just that little bit more.

Hi my name is Donna McCullagh and at the ripe old age of 35 (+ a little added VAT) I’ve decided to take on the challenge of my first ever marathon.
Yes a whole 26.2 miles (just in case I’ve forgotten to tell any of you that!).
Why? I hear you ask, well… simply because I am lucky enough that I can!
I’ve extra motivation: not only do I want to do my 4 children and my family proud, I want to raise some money in the process for two fantastic causes:
1) Neonatal Unit in Altnagelvin
In memory of a beautiful lady, Joanne McBride, who just hours after giving birth to her beautiful baby boy so sadly passed away. Baby Lorcan spent a number of days in the Neonatal Unit, which allowed Aidan time to say goodbye to his wife and keep Lorcan safe while COVID was on the rise.
2) Cancer Research NI
I’m lucky and blessed to have lots of wonderful aunties in my life, however over the last few years breast cancer has come knocking on their doors. They have all done amazing and have kicked cancers ASS.
That being said, research plays a very important role in that, and can help others avoid the trauma and anxious times in the future. Each year Cancer Research UK spend over £2 million in Northern Ireland on some of the UK's leading scientific and clinical research, where would we be without it?
So that’s my reasoning, and hopefully you will consider them worthy of donating a few pound, if you are able to, or at least hit the “share” button to spread the word to others.
Thank you so much in advance for your positivity and generosity, you are all such a great motivation and it will hopefully help me through those 26.2 miles when the time comes!
