Help Baby Elizabeth

Donation protected
We are eight and a half months into a first pregnancy, although April had always been told that she wouldn't be able to have children-- so we are very excited, and in fact overjoyed to have been blessed with this baby girl, as you might imagine. However, we have found ourselves completely unprepared for this little miracle: we weren't even aware of the pregnancy until April was four months along already, and that news was followed by two separate covid infections and quarantines for both April and I. We're trying to get back on our feet now, after having been homeless throughout the pandemic. We are now recovered from our second covid infection, and have no income at the moment, although Andy is looking for an appropriate job now. This is, of course, merely in the ordinary hardships-of-life kind of category so far, and we were expecting to dig out in the normal way-- until we were given some news that would change everything. We knew that with our respective ages there was a chance this could be a high-risk pregnancy-- that possibility manifested itself in the form of the discovery of a serious heart defect. Although it turns out that heart defects in general are more common than we had known, this particular one, Double Inlet Left Ventricle, is rather rare. Her little heart is also reversed in her chest-- ultimately, this all means that she has three heart surgeries minimum to look forward to, and possibly more than that depending on how the birth goes and how she reacts to breathing air for the first time.
We are currently staying with April's mother, but she lives an hour away from the hospital that April has to be at for the delivery. There is an entire team of doctors ready for Elizabeth's arrival; all we need to do is to be close to the hospital for when that time comes, and for the following month, as well (because Elizabeth will have to stay in the hospital at least that long), to be there for her and provide breast milk on a daily basis while she is recovering from her first surgery.
There is an Extended Stay Hotel just a few blocks from the hospital, which would be perfect considering that our only vehicle is not in the condition right now to do that kind of driving.
The total cost of a two-month stay is nearly $6,000, and we are already struggling to find work amidst all the doctor's appointments and trying to acquire everything we need to have to be ready for little Elizabeth to come home, so this cost is simply overwhelming to us and we cannot afford it without help.
Please consider donating and helping us to be where we need to be to bring Baby Elizabeth into this world as safely as possible. We have to give her the best chance at life she can possibly have, and we need your help to do that. Thank you for your time and consideration, and God bless you.
