Matthew Ryan McManus's Eagle Scout Project

I will be building then installing 5 raised garden beds next to the Senior Center in my hometown; North Reading Massachusetts.

I have worked with the North Reading Historical District Commission and the Director of the North Reading Senior Center to design the project. I chose this project because some of the seniors in North Reading do not own houses anymore, and they miss gardening. The main purpose of this project is to allow these seniors to garden annually. Gardening is something that a lot of the seniors enjoy, and the Director of the Senior center specifically requested garden beds as an Eagle Scout Project.

All funds collected will go to the cost of the garden beds and supplies needed to install them. We will also be providing seeds and gardening supplies, and two Korean Lilacs will also be planted. Any excess funds will be donated directly to the North Reading Senior Center.
