Hello everyone! 

 

Paige and I are so excited to have started our fertility journey! Since we were both young, we’ve always wanted to be moms!

 

Personally, I feel like I’ve lived my entire life working on myself, learning, and growing. I always wanted a family. A family of love and stability and as many of my close friends and family knows, I really felt like I would never have that. I tried to suppress who I was in order to fit an expectation that was created of me at the expense of my own mental health. Unfortunately, I’ve lost many important family members along the way, but I know that was on their lack of acceptance and not on me trying. Thankfully, over the years, I’ve embraced and loved who I am. During this time, I met Paige, fell in love, and created a safe and stable life for myself. She became the dream I have always imagined and with this, my dream of starting a family with her became possible. However, as you all can assume, it’s a pricey process and we both work in education. As much as we have saved and as much as I am trying to get my Education Specialist to move over on the pay scale, the doctor’s appointments, ultrasounds, medicines, and more have definitely added up, along with the overall process of IUI. I know everyone is experiencing many expenses and life feels a bit hectic, but if you are willing to donate towards our dream, then we would appreciate it. I wish insurance companies would help in this process for same sex couples, but unfortunately, they only help with heterosexual couples going through the infertility process. Grants seem to also only be applicable for those heterosexual couples going through infertility as well. If you are unable to donate, but know of grants that we can apply for that we have not learned about, then please let us know! We greatly appreciate this and are so happy to be in this journey!
