Jamaica Relief Mission – Standing Together After Hurricane Melissa
My name is Kacey Ximines, and I was born in Kingston and raised in St. Thomas, Jamaica. I now live in the United States, where I work as a Loan Officer, but my heart remains deeply connected to the people of Jamaica.
I still remember surviving Hurricane Gilbert in 1988 while in primary school — no light, no water, and very little food. We all bundled together in one small space, trying to survive. I will never forget the kindness of people from overseas who came to help us when we had nothing. Now, as history repeats itself, I feel a strong calling to pay that kindness forward.
Together with Novlette Jackson, a Jamaican-born teacher in the school system, and Sulena Long Reece, who is originally from Trinidad, we have come together to launch the Jamaica Relief Mission. Our mission is to provide direct help and essential supplies to families devastated by Hurricane Melissa.
We are supported by amazing partners — Access Financial Mortgage Corp., SO Unique Concierge LLC, Karama Kouture, and KBMP (Kerryann Brown Music Promotions) — all joining hands to make sure the help we send truly reaches those in need. This is a grassroots effort. We are doing this on our own — going to Jamaica personally to deliver donations and ensure everything is distributed fairly and directly to affected families.
How the Funds Will Be Used
All donations will go directly toward:
• Purchasing and shipping food, water, clothing, and hygiene supplies
• Covering logistics and transportation costs for barrels and boxes of goods
• Providing direct assistance to families most affected by the storm
• Supporting local community distribution efforts on the ground
Every dollar will be used transparently and responsibly to help rebuild lives, restore hope, and bring relief to those who are suffering.
We thank you for your generosity, prayers, and support. Together, we can make a difference for Jamaica.
Give. Pray. Share. Help us restore hope.
