Hello all! It's been a while since I've done something like this but I'm back at it! Starting in July myself and 5 friends are attempting to cycle 3000 Kilometres from Mexico all through Central America to the Panama/Colombia border. Stupidly we decided to choose the monsoon season to undertake this adventure, so that should add some extra challenges! The trip will take a few months roughly, and we will be cycling through some of Latin America's best mountains, jungles, volcanoes and ancient ruins.
For the last year I have been living and working all over Canada and most recently working at a homeless shelter in New Brunswick (East Canada). The winters here are long and harsh and can be life-threatening for people with nowhere to go. The shelter provides a crucial role in ensuring the people here have a warm place to rest, where necessary medical care can be provided.
Working at the shelter I have had a unique insight into the lives of the people here and their stories. The job is thrilling, terrifying and humbling all at once, and the staff that work and continue to work there long after I am gone do such a fantastic job in the care they provide for a very vulnerable community. Fresh Start, the charity that runs the shelter also helps provide housing for the homeless so they can leave the shelter and get off the streets.
If you are able to donate anything at all it would be an enormous help and be hugely appreciated. The money would go towards the upkeep of the shelter, supplies, food and heating. Once we start our cycle journey I will be posting regular updates and photos from the trip on Facebook.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and if you wish to donate please follow the GoFundMe link.
