The Cwmafan Cobras Women’s Touch Rugby Team are lacing up for this year’s Richard Burton 10K — but we’re not stopping there! Some of our team (along with other friends from the village) are taking on an incredible 24-hour relay, running continuous laps of the tough RB10K route before finishing strong in the race itself on Sunday, 2nd November.
We’re doing it all to raise money for two causes very close to our hearts:
The Kevin Webber Mini Miler — in memory of local hero Kevin Webber, who faced pancreatic cancer with unbelievable strength. His spirit continues to inspire our village every year as children run the Mini Miler proudly wearing his name. His daughter, Jade Edwards, one of our very own Cobras, runs proudly in his honour — helping to keep his legacy alive through the next generation of Mini Milers.
❤️ Ellie’s Journey — supporting 21-year-old Ellie, who has cerebral palsy. Ellie’s smile lights up every room, but as her condition worsens, she needs a motorised wheelchair to stay independent and keep doing the things she loves.
Both of these causes remind us what Cwmafan is all about — community, courage, and coming together when it matters most. Every penny helps, and every cheer on race day will push us further!
Thank you for your support — from all of us at The Cwmafan Cobras ❤️
