Gateway Cafe Owners Bring Home Cooking and Community Spirit to Wykoff

For more than half a century, the Gateway Cafe has been a fixture in Wykoff — a place where neighbors gather, stories are shared, and regulars slide into their usual seats. But under the cafe’s new owners, Jennie Moreland and Mary Aakre, this small-town treasure is in the middle of a delicious revival. With a mix of cherished traditions and fresh energy, the Gateway blends comfort food, a touch of history, and a whole lot of heart.

The story of the cafe’s rebirth is as unique as the pair behind it.

The food is amazing and who doesn't like a Sunday brunch.

Whenever we walked through the doors to this cafe we were always greeted with the biggest, heartfelt hello and to our table we went. The atmosphere and company of the staff and others inside gave us a feeling of being at our own table at home.

This town and surrounding area needed this cafe. It was a comfortable place to go with family and friends and forget about everything outside and just enjoy the company your with.

The owners and staff are even better!

I am simply just trying to help spread the word of this unfortunate and devastating news.

I am praying for all involved and hope to see them rise above.

If you're able to help with any amount it would be appreciated. The staff now will be out of work and we know that's going to be stressful. So many things happening and I am sure big obstacles to hurdle through this devastation.
