Doing EcoTeach in Costa Rica!

Hi everyone! I need your help in achieving this once in a lifetime opportunity! Some of you may know that aside from trying to become a radio/TV professional, my heart has always been in science; even having the wonderful opportunity to teach high school science for a brief time. Well they have invited me to teach them again, in an expedition that will only be possible with the help of the community.

We are trying to raise funds to attend the EcoTeach program in Costa Rica.  We will stay with local families for part of the trip and volunteer at a coffee co-op and assimilate to the culture for about a week. We will volunteer at a wildlife shelter and learn invaluable lessons and awareness about endangered species indigenous to that area. We will participate in reforestation efforts and learning firsthand about rural Costa Rican life as we spend one on one time with local families. We will also be taking this time to learn about the resilient sea turtle by conducting population studies, tagging turtles, transplanting eggs to a protected area and releasing hatchlings into the ocean. While we learn about the rich culture, we will volunteer at wildlife conservations and have opportunities to build hatcheries and help clean nesting grounds.

I know how hard everyone works for their dollar and I would absolutely be blessed if you would trust me to use it to make a small difference in our world and protect the wildlife of our precious ecosystems, while teaching a group of students from Western Mass some valuable life lessons.

Please help if you can!

Any small contribution would be appreciated from the bottom of my heart to help make this opportunity a possibility.

The students and I have a big fundraiser coming up on Sunday Feb 22nd:  a hair cut-a-thon sponsored by DiGrigoli's Salon, official hair stylists of WWLP 22 & 94.7 WMAS! We will be there from 10a-4p doing $10 haircuts and manicures!
