Hi, my name is Zac Hutton and I’m a 17-year-old student at Matthew Flinders Anglican College. I will be buzzing my head as part of my school’s “Cuts for a Cause” fundraising campaign to help provide funds and support for Bloomhill Cancer Care.

For me, this cause is deeply personal.

Cancer has felt ever-present in my family for as long as I can remember. My grandad passed away from bladder cancer when I was 12, and currently my grandma and my great uncle are both battling pancreatic and oesophageal cancer respectively. Seeing the impact of cancer up close has shown me that it’s not just a disease; it affects every part of a person’s life and the people around them.

Buzzing my head is a way for me to stand in support of those going through this and to show that they’re not alone. While this isn’t a big sacrifice for me, the reality for many families is far more permanent. By taking part in this campaign, I hope to raise awareness, start conversations, and contribute to the incredible support that Bloomhill provides to individuals and families facing cancer.
