Hi my name is Kate, and I'm a 17-year old student at Matthew Flinders Anglican College. I will be cutting my hair for the 'Cuts for a Cause' fundraiser to help raise funds for Bloomhill Cancer care - which will provide care for people of all ages that are impacted by cancer.

Here's a bit of an insight into why I made this decision:
I have a choice to do this - those with cancer didn't have one.I've know many people that have either had cancer or have had friends or family impacted by it. This includes my loving Pop that died when I was only very young due to liver cancer.

Fundraisers such as Bloomhill Cancer Care can assist with diagnosis, treatment, recovery, from cancer or end-of-life through practical, emotional, physical and spiritual support for both the person diagnosed and their loved ones and carers. Bloomhill is a community based organisation that receives zero government funding, so every cent our community contributes counts.

As people fight the battle against cancer, around 65% of people going through chemotherapy will loose their hair - which is why I have chosen to cut my hair to support the many that loose their hair without a say.

Every cent that goes towards this charity matters and I value each person that either donates to mine or another year 12's fundraiser, because it helps another person who is battling a fight
