This year, our Gugara Kindergarten class has been learning about kindness, empathy, and how even small acts can make the world a better place. During one of our social and emotional learning lessons, we talked about how being kind can create a ripple effect that spreads far beyond our classroom.

The children were deeply moved by this idea and, completely unprompted, suggested that we should help others who may not have as much as we do—especially at Christmas time. From that simple conversation, Cut for Kindness was born.

To raise money, Gugara will be:

Holding an Art Show of student creations

Running a Mufti Day

✂️ And the big one… Mr Penno will be cutting his hair off!

Our goal is to raise $1000 so we can:

Purchase Christmas gifts for families supported by the Salvation Army Wollongong Red Shield Appeal

Buy toys and items for children spending Christmas in the Wollongong Hospital Children’s Ward

Every dollar donated will go directly towards buying gifts and essential items that will bring joy, comfort, and hope to people who need it most this Christmas.

This project has already sparked incredible compassion in our Kindergarten students. They are so excited to think that their kindness can brighten someone else’s Christmas morning.
