Help Curtin Students fundraise for our community development program in Tunkhel, Mongolia, to improve public park spaces!
The Governor of Tunkhel, Mongolia, has invited Curtin University students to engage in an international practicum program in collaboration with the Tunkhel Sustainable Development Centre, an NGO that conducts sustainable projects in the region. The initiative aims to establish and improve community areas and infrastructure in the Mandal District of the Selenge Province. The study tour will ensue from June 15th, 2024, to July 23rd, 2024.
The team of 19 students and two teachers have been assigned to two projects, Tunkhel’s train station and public park space.
Park Team
The public park team aim to raise $5,000 to establish and maintain the park infrastructure and space, including the expansion of park equipment already established by Curtin students in 2023 and improving landscaping. Donations will go towards the purchase of materials, local labour hire where needed and tools required. We aim to create a space for locals to have the opportunity to participate in physical activity and community engagement.
Park project members include Zachary Blinco, Emma Campbell, Lachlan Duncanson, Finn Grieco Hazewinkel, Bridget Hartee, Baylie Hume, Bella Humm, Daniel Iverson, Sophie Mumford, Sage Pigliardo and Eden Rigo.
Member’s tertiary disciplines include urban planning, anthropology, international relations, and architecture.
