Dear CUNY School of Medicine/Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education students, faculty, alumni, and supporters,
Hello, we hope you are all safe and coping amidst the widespread social unrest due to the systemic perpetuation of racial inequity by our nation's government and justice system.
The Class Representatives of Sophie Davis would like to show our support through fundraising for the Black Lives Matter Foundation.
The Mission Statement for the BLM Foundation: "Our mission is to help survivors and families that have suffered from the loss of a relative or loved one as a result of an unjust or questionable police shooting, and use our unique and creative ideas to help bring the police and the community closer together to save lives."
We would also like to present the following exceptional organizations that support the #BlackLivesMatter movement. As we are part of a school that has a mission to support the underserved and underrepresented, we would like to make it our duty to spread awareness and our helping hands. Please take a look at the list we have come together to make, as we are proud to be a part of a system that does not support inaction, but strives to invigorate those around us to take a stand against discrimination and injustice.
