Columbia U. Morocco Water Project
Donation protected
As of now, members of the community of Ait Bayoud in Morocco have to spend up to four hours a day traveling to get water. Our group- EWB Morocco at Columbia University- is a chapter of the larger organization Engineers Without Borders and we are currently working on a project to address this problem by building a piping system that will bring water to the community and make their lives much easier. During the winter of 2014, our team traveled to the village and was able to dig a small well.
Our next goal is to install piping to bring water from the well to Ait Bayoud. The well is approximately 3000 meters from the community and so far we've been able to lay about 1400 meters of piping. Ideally, we would like to continue installation as soon as our next trip to the community this summer. Each meter of pipe costs only about $10! The members of Ait Bayoud and we would be extremely grateful for any donation you’d be willing to spare! Please help us reach our goal!
