Cuddle Cot Fundraiser for Temple U. Hospital
Donation protected
Bringing comfort to grieving mothers has become a passion of my mother, Marguerite Sexton. During this Christmas season, and in honor of Ron’s birthday, January 6, 2020, our family has decided to donate a Cuddle Cot to Temple University Hospital in order to bring a measure of comfort to mothers, fathers and families of infants who do not survive.
A Cuddle Cot is a type of bassinet that can be used to hold the body of a newborn infant who dies at birth or shortly after so that the body will remain intact long enough for the family to grieve until such time they are ready to let go.
Many regional hospitals already have a Cuddle Cot. They’re usually donated by families who have lost an infant as this is not something that hospital budgets provide. We chose to fund-raise for Temple University Hospital because they treat the greatest number of low income patients and do not yet have a Cuddle Cot.
We will arrange this donation to Temple University Hospital through the Ron S! Charitable Fund in honor of baby Lindsey Nicole Rush-Ashbaker, who was born June 18, 1992, and had a very brief few hours of life. My mother, Marguerite Sexton who was, and is, close to her parents never forgot their grief.
My mom finds deep satisfaction in knowing that our efforts will bring comfort to so many grieving moms.
