Purple light for little souls

Sloane Mary Lyons... Our beautiful little girl who graced this earth for 5 whole days.

Born Monday Jan 22nd 2018, at 34weeks and 5 days, 3lbs 6oz. Who in her little time on this planet has such a little story. Having everyone in the country fighting her side. Who on the Wednesday ended up with her own little passport, and flew solo without me and her daddy to Sweden, with an amazing team of doctors. After the team of doctors flew in from Sweden and put Sloane on ECMO.
Unfortunately after landing in Sweden, and doctors doing tests, we got that dreaded call to meet with the doctors in Limerick. To be told our little girl was to be flown back home and nothing could be done.
On Friday January 26th, Sloane returned to the maternity hospital Limerick at noon, and me and her daddy, after 5 days finally got to hold our little girl.
2hrs later she took her last breath.

This is something you would not wish on your worst enemy. Childloss is a very lonely journey. Days are like swimming in the sea, with waves of grief constantly ebbing at you. Sometimes the waters can be calm, but you never know when that wave is around the corner.

The reason I have decided to do this for féileacain, is,October is Baby loss Awareness month, and they are not supported by any funding.
Me and Paddy have always been so grateful that we had Sloane and get to remember her every day. We had suffered an eptopic pregnancy in 2015 & a miscarriage in September 2018.but thankful for a precious gift of a baby boy in September 2019. I have found great joy in my little boy, but every milestone brings great sadness too as I now know what I have missed with my other children.

We were blessed that in our time of loss we were able to be surrounded by family and friends, and the amazing work that Féileacàin do. Thanks to this amazing organisation we have a beautiful memory box of key reminders of Sloane.
Something in that box is the little teddy u see in the photo. They had 2 of these .1 is forever with Sloane and the other remains with us
They also have an amazing piece of equipment called a COLD COT. These are incredibly expensive, but the comfort this gives during time of loss, is unexplainable. It allows you to put your little child in its own moses basket and spend extra time with them, that without you may not get. We found ourselves lucky that there was 1 free at our time of need, otherwise we would not have had that opportunity for something that may seem so simple.

In the current climate we find ourselves in, I can't help but think of the numourous couples that are been dealt this blow. And alone. And not having the choice to have loved ones surround them, or celebrate their little soul.

Therefore, for the month of October I would like to give back and try and bring a little ease to those who find themselves in this situation, through fundraising for this amazing charity.

I aim to hit a target of 22118 steps or above each day . This represents Sloane's birthday 22/1/18.I will give a weekly update.
If you can help in anyway, I would, & I'm sure the charity would, greatly appreciate it.
