Asking for money is not something I've ever done, nor do I have much experience with GoFundMe, but the need has arisen.
A Guatemalan mom and her 8 year-old daughter and 14 year-old son have crossed my path. We hired her, not because we were necessarily looking for a house cleaner, but because we wanted to help a mom out. Her husband has been deported and she is the only source of income for her family.
She is wanting as many cleaning jobs as she can get (a hard worker), and I've tapped into my networks to make that happen. She has no idea that I'm asking people for money, but I thought a small cushion to take the edge off would be so very much appreciated. She is a dear soul and so thankful for any and all help.
I don't know about you, but it feels that these are challenging times in our country. Extending a smile, a hand, or a dollar to a fellow human is the kind of kindness we all need right now. She just needs to pay her bills and provide a simple, safe life for her children.
