And we’re not done yet — there’s one last event coming up in Airdrie on the 24th of Octobera *bingo night*! Another chance for the community to come together and show support for Matthew.
On the 2nd of September, life changed forever for Matthew MacGregor, a young and hardworking lad from Kilwinning. At just 18, Matthew received the devastating news that he has been diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma cancer.
Matthew is known by everyone who meets him as a kind, genuine, and hardworking boy, full of energy and determination. He has always been the one to step up, help others, and brighten people’s days with his easy smile and caring nature. Now, in the face of this life-altering diagnosis, Matthew needs our help.
Why We’re Raising Funds
Matthew has a long and difficult journey ahead of him as he begins treatment. Cancer doesn’t just take a toll on the body — it brings immense emotional and financial strain. The costs of travel to and from hospitals, time off work, and additional living expenses quickly add up. Our aim is to help ease the burden on Matthew and his family so that he can focus on the most important thing: fighting this illness and getting back to health.

Since Matthew will lose his hair during treatment, 10 of his loved ones are braving the shave on the 26th of September. While 10 shave their heads, others are sacrificing body hair with the help of a wax strip — all to stand shoulder to shoulder with Matthew in this battle.
It’s an act of unity and strength, proving to Matthew that he’s not in this fight alone.
