The day I almost died. After years of ignoring my own health, it all came crashing down one night in December. I couldn't breathe. My lungs were failing. My heart was failing. My body was ready to give up, but I wasn't. Luckily, I was fortunate enough to receive the care that was needed before it was too late. However, my family is now left with the burden of covering my medical bills, physical therapy, costly prescriptions, and equipment for accessibility. I was hospitalized for three weeks, I was in a coma for two. I am currently recovering and unable to walk.
My name is Edgar Gonzalez, 21, and I'm blessed with a another chance at life. All I ask for is what you can give. No more, no less. The road to recovery is a long one but I'm ready to focus my energies on bettering my health for good. God bless.
