In 2024 my granny Mary kelly received end of life care in the north west hospice sligo. On the week of her passing i was preparing for the Dublin marathon aiming to break the coveted 3 hour barrier. I had to make the difficult decision to travel to Dublin to run while my granny fought strong in hospice and waited till I returned. Ultimately I didnt have the dream day i had hoped of in Dublin but i made it back to sligo to be with my granny in her final hours.

The care my granny received in her final days was second to none. From nurses to chaplins, kitchen staff the support my family received in this difficult moment i will never forget. This year i am returning to the Dublin marathon and raising money in aid of North West Hospice and every donation will help.
