We are Jenny, Hunter and Hutcheson Crute and we are triplets! We are 17 years old and live in Raleigh, North Carolina. We were born at 28 weeks gestation at Duke Hospital in Durham, North Carolina. We all weighed less than 3 pounds. My parents have told us about our early days of life, but only recently really shared with us how scary the first few weeks on our lives were, and how fragile we were. One of our first big achievements was being able to fit into preemie clothes!
When we were first born, we were so tiny we couldn’t even fit into the smallest preemie clothes. My Mom told us that when we first could be put into a preemie onesie, she felt like we were going to survive. We now know that if we had not been born in America and near a place like Duke Hospital, or without the medicine, technology and care from Duke, our outcome story may have been completely different. My brothers and I are raising money to buy preemie clothes. We want to raise $1,000 to buy preemie clothes. We want to donate half of the clothes to people in need at Duke Hospital and the other half to a hospital in Somalia, Africa. Somalia Africa is one of the poorest countries in the world, and their Healthcare system is struggling. Infant mortality rate there is one of the highest in the world. Premature births in Somalia are almost double what it is in the United States. We want to help raise money to not only support the hospital that saved our lives, but also to help others around the world. Please donate so that we can help others have an amazing and beautiful story like ours. Our goal is to raise $1,000. Thank you in advance to everyone who can help. We know we are lucky, and we are grateful. Now it’s our turn to try to pay it forward. ~ Jenny, Hunter and Hutch
