The neighbors of Central Minneapolis have stood strong for months in the face of ICE’s violent siege. To get through March, we need your support again.
Please donate today to help raise the $600,000 needed for March to keep over 200 Central families housed! To best ensure that these funds reach our neighbors by March 1st, we have created a March Rent Assistance Page, which is set up for faster transfers so we can most efficiently distribute rent funds to our neighbors.
For those who would like to give through a donor-advised fund or require a tax-deductible donation receipt, you may continue to give to this page, which is operated with our fiscal sponsor, CANDO (Central Area Neighborhood Development Organization). Both of these GoFundMe pages are organized by Central Neighborhood Care & Resistance toward rent assistance efforts.

Our February Impact: With the generous support of thousands of caring people like you, we were honored to provide full rental assistance for February (including back owed rent) to all the families who requested it. As of now, all funds raised last month have been distributed to neighbors. Thanks to your donations, our February fundraising exceeded our $300,000 goal and allowed over 200 families in the Central Minneapolis neighborhood to remain safely in their homes. With immense gratitude for your support, we are again raising funds toward the rent our neighbors need and deserve.
Our Current Need: Our $600,000 fundraising goal reflects the March rent needs of neighbors who received support in past months, as well as our team's estimate for the needs of neighbors who did not hear about rental assistance in time to apply. Many of these families have back owed rent.
The Present Situation: Despite the news of an ICE drawdown, our reality is that ICE continues to threaten Minneapolis communities. Hundreds of Central neighbors wisely and courageously have chosen to protect their families by sheltering in place these past months. The economic impact of this bold choice has been severe for these families and for our community as a whole, where small businesses have closed or are struggling to stay open. Even as some neighbors consider returning to work, we know that they will need support in March to cover rent as they begin to get back on their feet.
Thank you for standing with Central Neighborhood in love, solidarity, and care for our neighbors!
