Crenshaw Adoption Celebration & Support

A note from Courtney and Luke:

As many of you know, our world completely changed in February 2023 when a spunky little girl was placed in our home as our foster daughter. At that point, we had prayed for years about becoming foster parents and any of the children whose lives we would be joining. So much has happened since that day in February—much of which can only be explained by the Lord’s providence and protection. And now, 19 months from that day, after 2 years and 5 foster homes since our girl was placed in foster care, we are at the final stage of the process and are able to share that we have the great privilege of adopting our girl.

We know that God is about redemption and restoration, and while that was not an option for sissy's birth family, we believe that He is intimately and actively at work in the redemption and restoration of each of their lives. So, while there has been and will be grief over the loss of what God intended to be safe and lasting, we are also able to celebrate what is good and true. We are a family. Our sissy is a Crenshaw! *cue our tears* and we will celebrate all the days and moments when adoption feels like answered prayers and provision.

To celebrate sissy's adoption, we were presented with the idea of taking our girl on her “bucket list” vacation as a memory she can treasure forever. I don’t think anyone would be surprised that Sis shared her dream is to go to Disney World! We have the greatest community in the world who have been so faithful to ask us how things are going throughout the foster care and now adoption process. And we’ve had quite a few people ask how they could celebrate her adoption with us, and this feels like the most special way to do so. In lieu of gifts, we would love any donations to make this Disney once-in-a-lifetime celebration as magical as possible for our precious girl. Along with this, the State of Texas DFPS will not be covering the costs of our adoption (as they do in some cases for adoption through foster care), so this fund will also greatly help us to pay for our adoption attorney and the various fees and costs throughout the process.

It is our greatest honor and privilege to be sissy and Callahan’s parents… we will never get over it! Thank you for loving our family and celebrating with us!!
