Creekside Recovery Fund

November 4th Update:
Look what you did, all of you generous and caring humans out there.
Thank you all for your incredible support for Creekside’s recovery! Together, we have raised over $40,000, reaching the initial goal thanks to your kindness and generosity. To continue meeting the recovery needs from Hurricane Helene’s impact, we’ve raised the goal to $50,000. Your support will help ensure Creekside remains a gathering place for our community. With no potable water expected in our city system until mid to late December, it is taking a lot of creativity for restaurants to open and provide even limited menus and service until we all return to "normal".
If you’re able, please share this update with friends, family, and anyone who may be interested in helping. Thank you for being part of this journey - your encouragement means everything!
CREEKSIDE RECOVERY FUND
Friends & Neighbors, we need your help. Hurricane Helene was a one-two punch to restaurants in Asheville already digging out of the Covid crisis of 2020/2021 and beyond. In order to reopen after Covid, so many establishments were forced to take out loans that are still being repaid and now Helene has derailed this recovery. It is a safe bet that many restaurants will not reopen after this recent disaster and so many owners, employees and those of us in the surrounding community will be severely impacted. You can help.
Creekside has been "home" to so many of us over the years. It is a place where we gather our families, meet up with our friends, holler at our football teams on the TVs, and bring our kids together after Saturday soccer games. We sit out back and let our kids splash around in the creek, we drink our first pumpkin ale or Cold Mountain of the season, we watch the snow fall outside the front windows ... we share our lives and our stories.
This fund is not just to get Creekside reopened, but to keep Creekside open for all of us to enjoy beyond the coming weeks or months. I want to assure you that this fund raising effort is legitimate. I have been a Haw Creek resident since December 2011 and Kim and Anthony are dear friends of our family. 100% of the funds (minus the transaction fees deducted by GoFundMe) will go directly to Creekside. Help us to keep this Asheville/Haw Creek gem alive. NOTE: on the donation page, GFM suggests a "tip" which you can adjust or, I think, eliminate. This looks to be their way of recouping some cost for the "free" set up of the fundraising page.
