Trans and Gender Expansive Camp is a multi
-day gathering of trans and gender-expansive adults (18+) across generations. Since 2022, Camp has been a place to rest, build community, and create trans joy in the woods of Minnesota.
Your financial support helps provide:
- Sliding-scale fees so anyone can attend, regardless of income
- Comfortable, accessible lodging and communal meals
- ASL interpretation to ensure language access for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and hearing participants in every activity
- Camper-led activities like crafting, fishing, bonfires, board games, hiking, and discussion groups
More than 15 volunteers begin the work to make camp happen six months before campers arrive. In addition to grant applications, hours of volunteers’ time, and community fundraiser events, we rely on direct donations to make another year of Trans and Gender Expansive Camp a reality. With your help we plan to offer campers experiences like ones shared by past campers:
“It truly nourishes me and gives me hope throughout the whole year.”
“I was able to just be, not worry about gender presentation. I felt like folks were more open because we felt safe and accepted.”
“With trans folks being a huge target of the government right now, spaces that center trans folks feel not just important, but absolutely necessary for our survival.”
“What I love most is the range of ages and experiences of campers. I was the oldest one there this year — I love learning from all of the younger folks.”
"Thank you for providing the interpreters! It helped ease the communication anxiety that I often experience when interacting with hearing people."
"It felt like a tiny town sprang up for two nights, full of people who cared about each other and didn't question the things that are so often challenged in other places — gender, ability, neurotype, ways of being. It was like a pain I'd dealt with for years and become accustomed to, suddenly vanished, and I understood what I'd been missing."
Thank you for your support!
