Creating Memories

Hi, I am Punya and I am 15 years old. I am in Grade 10 at Espanola High School. My grandpa died when I was 9, he was in India and I was here in Canada. I couldn't spend time with him during his last days, nor could I give him a birthday present. I still regret the barriers created by distance at the time. Because of COVID-19, many people are like me, where they can't spend time with their families without worrying about their health. But the barrier isn't distance, it is a pandemic. I've seen seniors look out their windows in despair, which is heartbreaking. They can't celebrate anything freely due to a fear we all have, of infecting our loved ones. This Christmas, I want to give out presents, make cards, and put smiles on our seniors' faces at Queensway Place Assisted Living and the Nursing Home. I would want this Christmas to be full of joy and happiness for everyone, including our seniors. But I can't do this without your help. Join me, in filling this Christmas with light for our seniors, because memories are what matter in all our lives. Any money left over from this event will be donated to our local veterans through the Espanola Royal Canadian Legion.
