CREATING COASTAL CONNECTIONS

Hi everyone, my name is Mariah Cage. I am 14 years old and I am extremely excited to be announcing a new program I have created called ' CREATING COASTAL CONNECTIONS'. This program is based in the Central Coast NSW and is targeted towards assisting the homeless, DV victims, and people struggling with financial problems due to outside aspects such as addiction, and financial abuse. My goal is to create a safe environment for everyone living in the Central Coast. Physiological needs that are necessary for survival are being restricted due to our ongoing living crisis. Not only that but it is essential for humans to feel a sense of community. I want to create a loving place where people going through unsafe situations can connect with other who are struggling in the same area. Not only does this have a psychological impact but also a biological impact. As a child I had struggled heavily with poverty. Having lived experiences has definitely stemmed my interests in creating a sustainable environment. My mother was an addict and is still currently struggling with active addiction. I am hoping that I can help others, aswell as my mum to overcome this terrible disease and realise that there are people out there willing to help.
