This is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to share…

My husband, Douglas—my best friend, my covering, and the strongest man I know—has been diagnosed with stage 3 prostate cancer.

Even writing those words feels unreal.

Just a few years ago in 2022, Douglas suffered a massive brain bleed and stroke. There was a moment when it looked like I might lose him. But God… stepped in and performed a miracle. I watched my husband go from a hospital bed back to walking, seeing, talking, and living again.

That testimony is the only reason we have the strength to face this moment now.

But this time… we need help.

Why We’re Asking for Help

As we prepare for Douglas’ upcoming surgery, we’ve run into a major obstacle we cannot overcome alone.

We currently live in an apartment that requires us to climb steep stairs every single day. After surgery, Douglas will not be able to walk up those stairs without intense pain.

We’ve been approved for a home, a place where he can safely recover… but our apartment complex is requiring:

* A 60-day notice, and

* $1,732 to break the lease early

Waiting is not an option we’re comfortable with due to the seriousness of his diagnosis.

All we want is to move him into a safe, peaceful environment where he can heal properly.

A Personal Note From My Heart

I am not just sharing this as a minister…

I’m sharing this as a wife.

As someone who made a vow 22 years ago to stand by my husband through sickness and health.

As his caregiver… my greatest desire is to make sure he is comfortable, safe, and able to heal without unnecessary pain, stress, or worry.

This is not easy for me to ask. If you know me, you know I don’t do this lightly.

But today, I am choosing faith over fear… and trusting that God will move through His people.
