Hi, we are Bex, Clare, Francine, Emily and Imogen - we are a group of volunteer counsellors, employees and friends of Wandsworth Bereavement Service (WBS).
WBS has been supporting bereaved residents of Wandsworth for over two decades with confidential free/low cost bereavement counselling sessions.
At WBS, we value and believe in:
- the individual’s capacity to work through the pain of grief.
- ‘normalising’ the grief process.
- the individual’s belief system and life experiences.
- the importance of ethnic and cultural traditions and influences in the grieving process.
- working with ‘difference’ to ensure equality and enable the individual to access and work through personal grief in a meaningful and therapeutically beneficial way.
- the possibility of reaching a peaceful understanding of loss.
Bereavement counselling can be a challenging experience for people, having a safe, calming and pleasant space to do it is important. The counselling rooms at WBS are in desperate need of some tender love and care. We need your help to achieve this.
A group of WBS counsellors and friends are running 5/10k on October the 21st in Battersea Park. We would be grateful for any support you are able to give which will enable us to create a beautiful environment with comfortable seating and cushions, fresh curtains, ambient lighting and pleasant décor to put our clients at ease while they are with us.
