Help Crazy George Recover & Rebuild
Donation protected
As a family, we are fundraising for our patriarch, 'Crazy George' Voulgaris. If you know George, then you know he'd give you the shirt off his back if you needed it, and he'd never want anything in return! Any of his friends you meet all say the same thing, "George is special!" Despite being a little rough around the edges or having a delivery a little more direct than most, he has one of the biggest hearts, and when you become a part of his circle, you know he'll always have your back.
In 1968 George started the Bikers United M.C. of Belleville, MI which is still going strong today. He is one of three remaining co-founders and is highly respected & loved by many brothers!
34 Years ago he came to Hessel, MI to care for his mother and fell in love with the calmer way of life. One of his last positions in the community was President of the Cedar Post Emergency Food Pantry, where he, with his wife Jane, provided for anyone in need. He held and cherished that title for 16 years, until retiring to care for Jane. He truly believes in the good of people and helping others however you’re able.
Unfortunately George had a stroke in early December and has been in the hospital for almost 2 months! He’s had several triumphs while in recovery, and also several setbacks. We are so blessed that the biggest impacts of all this were his losing strength, weight, and his ability to walk, but he is working hard in rehab to get stronger and come home to Hessel!
And HOME is exactly why you're reading this now! George's home is not currently up to code and especially not handicapped friendly. He is going through his life savings to have his current home removed and a new Amish-built structure established on the property, tailored for accessibility so he can keep as much independence as possible.
While packing up as many of his memories as we could was difficult, we are so excited to get George home in the sound and safe residence he deserves!
We've had so many people ask how they can help George, because he's helped so many, that we thought this would be the easiest way to accept the outpouring of everyone's love! We don't expect anything but appreciate absolutely everything to help Crazy George live out all his final years happy, comfortable, and with peace of mind.
We are so grateful for all your time, care, concern, and of course, donations!
