Hello everyone,

James Clifford here, some of you might remember me as a former player, and now a supporter of the Club and its ambitions. I know there have been some truly incredible and inspirational fundraising efforts recently to help build the new clubhouse, and I’m honestly in awe of what’s already been achieved. So, what I’m doing really feels quite small in comparison.

On Saturday 7th June, I will be taking part in the "Saffery Rotary Island Challenge". A reasonably tough 38.8 miles around the Island of Guernsey. Not done anywhere near this distance since my Army days, and I won't be carrying a pack, helmet or rifle. I asked but they politely said no, a wise decision all round I think. My daughter Mia will be competing in the latter stages of the race to help boost the cause as well.

I hope to complete this in under 12 hours but aiming for 10.5 hours.

Like I said, I know many of you have already given so generously to this project over the past few months, but if anyone happens to have a spare fiver or tenner to contribute, it really would mean a lot. Even if we only raise a couple of hundred pounds, that’s still a little closer to our overall target.

To those who are able to donate—thank you so, so much. I’ll keep everyone updated on how the walk goes and how much we manage to raise.
