Craig & Troy's Saron to Mumbles Pier Fundraiser
Donation protected
Following on from the success of the 4x4x48 challenge in 2021 we are looking for your help again. This time my friend, Troy, and I are running from Saron in Carmarthenshire to Mumbles Pier in Swansea to raise money for Eva's Little Stars Foundation. As my 40th birthday approaches, I thought instead of being over the hill I would run over a mountain! During the last challenge we managed to raise a whopping £3021 and it would be amazing to be able to top that and support even more families after stillbirth.
This cause is particularly close to my heart as in 2010, after a straightforward pregnancy, my sister gave birth to her first child; the beautiful baby Eva. What should have been a time of ecstatic joy was replaced with excruciating grief as Eva was stillborn. And statistics show that 1 in every 225 births in the UK heartbreakingly ends the same way. That’s around 7 babies every day.
However, out of the devastation rose an opportunity to honour Eva with the formation of the charitable foundation Eva’s Little Stars which helps other families facing this terrible tragedy. For while basic funeral costs are covered by The Children’s Funeral Fund all the personalised and individual touches to memorialise these little ones are at an additional cost to the grieving families. Eva’s Little Stars is able to provide a one-off contribution towards headstones, flowers, keepsakes, memorial books and additional funeral costs. As more families are struggling with the rising cost of living many of the families affected by stillbirth would be unable to afford this without your generous donations.
So please dig deep and share as widely as you can.
