Hey everyone, I wanted to send out an update as well as reach out with a request for assistance.

Many of you know I’ve been in a long 4-year legal battle as a result of the horrible abuse at the hands of my children's stepfather. We were put in an impossible situation, and I did the best I could with the situation at hand. In the end, my children and I were hurt by a man who we thought we could trust and a system designed to protect us but never did. I won’t go into too many details, as we are still healing emotionally, mentally, and physically from what was done to us. Yesterday, we finally received some justice. My soon-to-be ex-husband had his court hearing, and he was sentenced to prison time for the foreseeable future. Now that chapter is closed, my children and I can continue focusing on healing and finding normalcy and start the next step in my fight to keep us safe. I can now legally file for divorce and any additional protective orders to keep my family safe, now that he has pleaded guilty and been sentenced.

I have spent almost $20k in legal fees while also supporting my children and myself, all on my own. Now, I need to come up with an additional $3-6k to help pay for my immediate divorce and protective orders from the monster who hurt us, the custody battle of my older children as a result of his sins, counseling for myself and my kids, medical expenses, and additional legal fees.

I want to ensure my kids' safety and healing by making sure I have everything in place to protect us if he ever gets out of prison.
