Hi Friends!
It's been a very long time since we last asked for your help. If you remember, Kyle and Amanda delivered a beautiful baby girl, Maci, who was immediately rushed to ICU in Fargo; she flatlined on the table and, with God's miracle, returned to us.
Now Amanda is fighting for her health and quite possibly her life, and needs your prayers and financial support as you are led by the Lord.
Around November 16th, 2022, Amanda started to feel ill. She described it as horrible body aches and a headache that would not go away. All she could do was try to sleep.
November 19th, when we checked in with her, she said it was so bad, and it just kept hitting her harder. She had taken 2 COVID tests, all coming back negative. Of course, being the loyal sister-in-law that I am, I instructed her to pump in the Vitamin C and Alka Seltzer Cold Plus with Orange Zest! (The only thing that works for my family). At this point, Maci would not leave her Momma's side.
I asked her if she thought it could be meningitis or sepsis.
November 20th- Amanda notices she has developed a painful rash on her legs and the body aches and headaches keep coming back relentlessly, with no relief. She describes herself as so weak she can't even eat. (if you know Amanda and I...you know we love our food - so this, unlike all the rest of the symptoms, is the biggest red flag! :) She decides to go to her family's ER. She asks for prayer because she has no strength left. I ask her for her symptoms.
1) Rash on her legs that is spreading - sometimes itchy, sometimes painful.
2) Headache that won't quit
3) Chills - currently no temp
4) Body Aches
5) Loss of Appetite
6) Lethargic
Her family Dr. finds nothing...sends her home.
She waits a few hours and goes back, demanding they do something. They give her fluid and a pain med.
I, of course, demand she take Vitamin C and Alka Seltzer Cold Plus with Orange Zest...a must!
Sunday, she finally eats something! We must be on the mend!
I'm praying and sending her healing scripture because I am a faith believer and am confident God has her on the mend. She admits that she is angry with God and that she has never felt so weak. Amanda has been through so much in life and has never been angry with God. I assure her that people of faith will hold her arms up when she is weak!
November 22th, Kyle takes her to his Clinic. The PA instructs them to get her to the ER at Kyle's Family Dr. immediately. They feel she has pneumonia. They provide her antibiotics and steriods and she must now finally be on the mend!!!
Amanda misses Thanksgiving with her family. She is too weak.
November 25th....9 days from the onset of the symptoms... they take her back to Kyle's Clinic. They now think she may have Meningitis and send her to Fargo for a lumbar puncture.
Folks.... Bacterial Meningitis is the actual diagnosis.... and this selfless, beautiful soul has relied on God to keep her alive for the last 10 days... because, in reality, she could have been dead within 3 hours....
Meningitis is an infection of the membranes (meninges) that protect the spinal cord and brain. When the membranes become infected, they swell and press on the spinal cord or brain. This can cause life-threatening problems. Meningitis symptoms strike suddenly and worsen quickly.
Now is where you come in. Prayer...nothing more important. The only thing that we can truly count on. Pray....and pray without wavering. We believe that it's the only thing that works....
Kyle and Amanda both work full-time jobs. They are raising their beautiful daughter on a middle-class income. Like most hard-working American's they can't afford health insurance. So, something like this is not only affecting their mental health, but they now have to wonder if God will help their finances, which we know He will. It's coming up on Christmas and there are amazing hearts out there that can and do understand that it's better to give than receive, especially during the holidays. There are no more thankful hearts than those that can not repay those that care....

How is bacterial meningitis treated?
Prompt treatment of bacterial meningitis is crucial. It can save your life. Once the type of bacteria has been identified, you'll start taking antibiotics.
Antibiotics are given through a needle placed into a vein (usually in the arm or hand). They may also be given along with a corticosteroid to help reduce inflammation and swelling. Treatment also includes plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration.
What are the complications of bacterial meningitis?
With quick treatment, many people with bacterial meningitis don’t have any permanent problems. However, even with prompt treatment, some may battle seizures, brain damage, hearing loss, and disability for the rest of their lives. Meningitis can be fatal, and some people with this infection will die.
Treatment isn't free. Please ask God what you can do to help!
