I am a cheerleader at American High School. But beyond that, I am a cheerleader for the entire community. This unprecedented situation of COVID-19 has spurred the cheerleader in me to empathize with the poor and elderly in need, appreciate our brave frontline workers, and explore the various ways in which we can help them.
That is why I am joining hands with Sewa International to raise funds to fight this COVID-19 menace. Sewa has a very wide and robust network of volunteers across the US, and has been making a huge positive difference across cities and states.
Over 600 Sewa volunteers in 20 major cities in the United States are working long hours to ensure a formidable community response at this difficult time. Sewa International is delivering free food; helping with shopping, transportation, and errands for the elderly; helping with travel issues; providing masks, hand sanitizers and food for first responders, and family therapist calls for working with children, and in reducing anxiety and fear. In a few cases Sewa's Family Services volunteers are working with friends and families of the patients who are in self-quarantine or being tested for COVID-19.
We need your support NOW to help keep people safe. To put this in perspective, here are some examples of how much your support can help:
ALL DONATIONS ARE 100% TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Sewa is a 501(c) (3) organization (EIN: 200638718)
$25 can provide hot meals for a family
$50 can provide a family with a groceries package
$100 can provide a pack of surgical masks to first responders (300 masks)
$300 can provide a pack of KN95 masks to doctors (100 masks)
$500 helps give lunch sandwiches for first responders at one station (100 people)
No amount is too small and I earnestly request you all to join hands with me in this effort. All right....lets Go, Fight, Win!!
