COVID-19 RELIEF FUND-ATHON: BARBADOS 2020
Want to join us in making a difference? Every day we are presented with new information on COVID-19 and how it continues to spread. We see and hear how of more individuals, communities, and entire nations that are feeling the impact in their daily lives. COVID-19 has created a global health crisis, and continues to have a grievous economic affect on individuals, families, small businesses, and medical institutions.
The Carrie-Lynn Cancer Foundation of Atlanta Inc. acknowledges the desperate need for educational and medical supplies, basic necessities, and quality healthcare is increasing as more communities become impacted by COVID-19. We are aware that with hundreds of thousands of individuals across the globe in quarantine, there is a growing need for financial support to help .
We are raising money to benefit Carrie Lynn Grazette Cancer Foundation Atl. Inc (Charitable): Barbados Relief 2020 Fund, and any donation will help make an impact. Our goal is to raise funds and to assist elementary school children in Barbados who are in need of computer equipment to access the on-line learning portal. School has started and many vulnerable children are at risk of being left behind because they lack the tools needed for online learning. We are partnering with The Red Foundation, a Barbadian Non-profit organization to identify children with an immediate need . Both organizations are committed to working diligently to ensure that your donations reach individuals and families with a legitimate need. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
“COVID is raising awareness of the inequalities in our system, such as those families that may not have access to electricity or broadband internet access, or only one computer that six children have to share.
“We are relying on teachers and principals to feed that information to the Ministry so we can respond. So far we have identified over 4,000 students who are more vulnerable in terms of access to devices, and there may be more.” Barbados Minister of Education Santia Bradshaw !
