COVID-19 Hot Meals for SOME

Every $8 you donate will purchase a Hot Nepalese meal for a single adult or a few meals for families in need who are on their own during this period of social distancing. Royal Nepal, a top rated Nepalese restaurant in Alexandria, VA has worked with us to create a wholesome and delicious meal including servings of chicken, lentils, vegetables, and rice. There has been immediate positive feedback after the initial 210 meals were delivered - the residents loved the food and are extremely grateful that they have not been forgotten during this difficult time for many. All funds (apart from fees listed below) will go toward hot meals delivered once a week (Sunday) to SOME residents living in the DC area - there are over 600 residents at 9 locations. Tony, Jenn and local friends are delivering the meals in person. :)
SOME (So Others Might Eat) is an interfaith, community-based organization that exists to help the poor and homeless in our nation's capital. We meet the immediate daily needs of the people we serve with food, clothing and health care. We help break the cycle of homelessness by offering services such as affordable housing, job training, addiction treatment and counseling to the poor, the elderly and individuals with mental illness. Each day, SOME is restoring hope and dignity, one person at a time.
(*All funds raised will go toward the purchase of hot meals - there will be a 2.9% payment processing fee & $0.30 charge per donation)
