Covid-19 Crisis Indigenous Community Fund

Guatemala is a country which relies heavily on tourism. However, due to the Covid-19 crisis this has reduced dramatically leaving the majority of the population without a steady source of income. The repercussions of this mean that communities are suffering, especially indigenous communities who already face higher rates of extreme poverty than the rest of the population. Our Covid-19 Crisis Indigenous Community Fund aims to bring support to indigenous communities linked to Trama Textiles by providing means for access to necessary food and supplies for our weavers and their families.

We hope to ease the strain on indigenous communities even slightly so that they can continue, like the rest of us, to focus on the health of individuals in their families and communities.
