New Haven County COVID-19 Hospitality Relief Fund
Donation protected
This emergency fund was founded to provide gap assistance to hospitality members of New Haven County Connecticut who have been directly affected by the rapid spread of COVID-19.
Over the last week, hundreds of hospitality employees have been furloughed. Many of these individuals not only lost their jobs but also health benefits. Businesses have made major cut-backs in lieu of the state mandated shut down while some have opted to adapt their business model to offer take-out and curb side service to avoid a complete closure.
Connecticut is one of the smallest states in the union and hospitality ranks as a significant player to the state's economy - an economy comprised of several small businesses. As someone who's been directly affected by the closures in our industry, I am concerned for fellow hourly workers in our network who are faced with diminished resources coupled with the challenges of obtaining sufficient meals, piling bills and meeting their monthly housing requirement.
I implore you, the patrons of our community, to remember these individuals that created cocktails, constructed memorable meals, educated you on craft beer or wine, given you an excellent dining experience or have provided you with some light conversation. They need your help more than ever. Please consider donating so we can help bridge the gap for these individuals that provide us with great dining experiences.
