As our talented friends lost their summer internships, and our favorite local stores closed their doors, we felt compelled to find a way to help.
We launched the COVID-19 Business Fellowship Program with one simple goal: connect students without internships to small businesses that need support - pro bono. By pairing the two, we create an opportunity for students to gain professional experience and for businesses to capitalize on the surplus of jobless talent.
In two weeks, we created and launched our mission-driven workforce initiative with the help of 40 students and professionals from around the country who believed in our mission. This summer, we will pair undergraduate students (Fellows) with small businesses across Illinois to assist them with their marketing, communications and advertising needs.
Now, we need your help. Our Fellows are volunteers and working with CBFP because they truly care about supporting local communities, but they are all students that need financial support as they navigate their college experience. All funds raised will be disbursed evenly among the Fellows.
