COVID19 42KM Cycle for Aoifes Clown Doctors
Donation protected
Update 4th May,
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you all. We cannot thank you enough. We completed the cycle this morning, and thanks to everybody who came out to support us. Thanks to our school, Pope John Paul's, Malahide Sea Scouts, St Sylvesters GAA and Kinsealy Soccer Club for sharing our story on on-line. We originally wanted to raise enough for 2 Clown Rounds, but now with your generosity we have raised enough for 13!!!!
Thanks to all our friends who came out to see us and we hope to go on another cycle with them later in the summer.
Go raibh maith agat, Mucho Gracias, Merci, Grazie, Vielen Dank, Takk skal du ha, Obrigado, Dziękuję Ci, благодарю вас, Dank u
Eoin and Cillian.
P.S. Our Dads just made it across the line, we had to stop a couple of times and feed them with energy bars and drinks!

Hello everybody,
Our names are Cillian Geraghty aged 10 and Eoin Hendrick aged 9 (and a half) and we are going to cycle 42km on May Bank Holiday Monday in aid of Aoife's Clown Doctors. We hang around together in school ( 3rd Class in Pope John Paul's National School, Malahide), play for St Sylvester's GAA, Kinsealy Soccer Club and in Sea Scouts together but are now at home school with our parents ( Uuuggghhh!).
As there are restrictions on where we can go to cycle in the lockdown, we intend to cycle on the path around Malahide Castle (4km), so that's 10 laps of the Castle and 1km up and back from our homes!! That's a lot of energy bars! With the restrictions we will keep 2 meters away from each other. Malahide Castle is within the 2km zone of both our homes. Our Dads will cycle with us but we are a bit unsure if they will make it to 42km ( fingers crossed!)
We hope everybody is keeping well in the COVID-19 lockdown, we really miss hanging out with our friends.
A little more about Aoife and the Clown Doctors ( in more grown-up language)
Aoife Hendrick sadly passed away back in August 2012, having just turned 5. She had only been diagnosed 4 months earlier with leukemia.
In 2014, as part of Aoife's legacy, Aoife's parents Áine and Adrian, set up Aoife's Clown Doctors Ireland - they are professional entertainers who go into the wards of Crumlin and Temple St hospitals in Dublin to bring some fun and smiles to the children and families there. They are working to expand the service to other hospitals in Ireland later in 2020.
Each clown-round costs €200. The funds donated here will help to continue to provide Clown Doctors for the children and families in these wards. As Áine&Adrian say 'We know from our own experience of the fun Aoife had with the clowns, how humour can lift the day and bring a smile to even the most sick of children.'
We have never cycled 42km in one day but we would be extremely grateful if you could make a donation, no matter how small.
As everybody is worried about jobs and money, we are just trying to raise enough for two clown rounds ( 400 Euro).
Thank you
Eoin-Mo Salah-Hendrick and Cillian-Lionel Messi-Geraghty!
