This gift is being organized by the parents of The Covenant School Preschool 3s class. We aim to bless the three teachers who bravely protected our children during the recent school shooting.

On that morning in their classroom, a group of three-year-olds, their teacher Mrs. Jungman, and teaching assistant Mrs. Pratt were preparing to go to the playground. Upon hearing the fire alarm, they along with other teachers and preschool students filed out onto the front lawn of the school for what all assumed was a routine fire drill. They soon realized there was an active shooter situation, and per their training, they ran to barricade. Mrs. Jungman, Mrs. Pratt, and kindergarten teacher Mrs. Suzy Chance immediately grabbed all the kids from the 3s class and carried them as they ran back into their classroom. A group of 5-year-olds ran with them. Mrs. Chance quickly and calmly got these ten children into a small closet as Mrs. Jungman and Mrs. Pratt hurriedly pulled the shades and locked and barricaded the doors. They then went into the closet, keeping the children quiet and safe while they sheltered in place until the danger was over.

Were it not for the quick thinking and calm composure these teachers exhibited, there could have been a very different outcome for our precious children. These teachers are our heroes.

We know that this experience has undoubtedly taken an extreme toll on them, and it is our desire as parents of those surviving students to raise funds directly for our three heroic teachers that day; Ivette Jungman, Martie Pratt, and Suzy Chance. It would be incredible to bless them with a large-scale monetary gift they can use however they need as they try to put their individual lives back together in this unbelievable aftermath.

Our intention is to create a gift that can start to convey the sincere gratitude we parents have for these brave teachers who so selflessly saved our children's lives. We know that within our respective circles of family and friends, our collective reach could create a large impact.
