Couto family fire

On June 28th, it was one of the worst days for our family. As my brothers lay sleeping after working all night, Andrew woke to the fire alarm going off. As he ran downstairs he saw the entire backyard on fire and the patio door starting to catch fire. Andrew was able to get back upstairs and wake Josh. By the time they both got back downstairs, the kitchen and ceiling were on fire. They both were able to escape as the house was now filled with smoke. The fire spread so fast. We thank God that they were able to get out, that our mom wasn’t home, and that our father was at work. In the rush to get out as the house filled with smoke, they were not even able to get dressed as every second counted. My parents and brothers are now left with what they were wearing. Everything burnt and nothing to be saved. They have lost everything. This fire happened 4 months before Josh was to get married and weeks before Josh was to move into his new home, which he had been storing items for in the basement. We are thankful for all the calls and everyone who came to support them yesterday. All the hugs and messages meant a lot to them during this time. As we have had many people wanting to help, I believe this is the best way to help at this time, as theyall need to start putting their lives back together.
