Cours des lumières for Anthony Nolan

Tax deductible
On 3rd December, my friend Alicja and I will be running the Cours des lumières 10km in Lyon! I have decided to use this as an opportunity to raise money for the charity Anthony Nolan, which raises awareness for blood cancer (more specifically, for leukemia and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation). This charity's work is vital in creating donor registers that can subsequently help save or extend the lives of those facing blood cancer. Additionally, they fund crucial research into leukemia.

The last time I ran a 10km was a decade ago! Therefore, this will be quite the challenge! However, I look forward to running in this event, which sees the city of Lyon (aka. the city of lights!) lit up by a stream of runners!

I understand that times are tough for many of us due to the cost of living crisis. However, even a donation of 50p would be greatly appreciated! I also want to use this fundraiser to encourage people to sign up as stem cell donors; it is a quick and easy process that could ultimately save a life! Although it is essential for as many people as possible to register, if you are of a mixed or single ethnic minority background, it is even more vital that you consider becoming a donor. This is because those from an ethnic minority background are less likely to find a match as they have rarer tissue types.
